Monroe, Michigan’s third oldest community, is home to La-Z-Boy and the River Raisin Jazz Festival. This gem on the west shore of Lake Erie is the childhood home of General George Armstrong Custer, and the site of a War of 1812 battlefield. Join us in Monroe where we will focus on enhancing our communication skills, understanding budgeting, delivering a State of the City address, and becoming better leaders. In addition, we’ll hear from League legislative staff on the hot topics in Lansing. On Friday afternoon, there will be an optional tour to the River Raisin National Battlefield Park and the Monroe County Museum, which will be unveiling a traveling national President Monroe exhibit, as part of Monroe’s Bi-Centennial celebration.
