You’ll also learn about Michigan’s Complete Count strategy for increasing Michigan’s response rate, and how to mobilize citizens to “Get Out the Counts” for their communities. Perhaps more so than any other state department, local units of government regularly interact with the Michigan Department of Treasury. From direct revenue support, to technical expertise, to regulatory oversight and reporting, a local government’s partnership with Treasury can be an important component of their fiscal reality. Workshop attendees will hear the latest from Treasury staff on laws and programs that Treasury administers and will be available for individual discussions on Treasury-related questions your community is facing.

Clean energy and green building strategies can be a big part of achieving those goals! You will learn about strategies for implementing clean energy programs (including energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean transportation options like electric vehicles) and green building investments in your municipal facilities and community wide. Workshop speakers will provide insights on how to evaluate options that fit your community needs, where and how to seek funding for clean energy and green building projects, and how to engage your communities in setting goals and priorities for sustainability.
