Pandemic Influenza Resource SummaryThe Public Entity Risk Institute has assembled the following list of official resources and links to help local governments gather information about managing a Swine Flu outbreak in their community. These resources offer information only, and do not supplant instructions provided by local health officials. Centers for Disease Control and PreventionThe CDC website offers a wealth of information about influenza and the 2009 outbreak of Swine Flu. Some of the information is directed at health care professionals, but much of can be helpful to public officials. This February 2007 guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Department for Health and Human Services includes special information for childcare centers, businesses, schools, colleges and universities, faith based and community organizations and individuals and families.
