Answer:
We’re talking about entry to lake front property by non-lake front property owners through an access parcel. Some local ordinances apply standards to the development and use of lake front property intended to protect lakes from overuse. For instance, rather than a single parcel set aside for lake access by subdivision homeowners who don't have lake front property, Novi requires a nonpublic lake front recreational park for access for waters sports, etc. They don’t allow boat launching in these parks. Brandon Township allows only one power boat launching facility per lake front parcel unless the frontage is greater than 50 feet. The League Information Service has a few keyhole (or funnel) ordinances we can send you. There has been some legal challenge to keyhole regulations so it is important to consult your municipal attorney and/or planner if you are considering a keyhole development ordinance.
