Today, many local governments are focusing on addressing the needs of youth in their community. This page is provided to connect municipalities with organizations that serve youth, other municipalities implementing youth programs, and MML-generated information regarding youth and government.

Youth Commissions, Youth Departments and Youth Representation in Local Government
As a response to great interest in youth involvement in local government, MML has been gathering information from communities throughout Michigan. The results from a statewide information search are available.

America’s Promise: The Alliance for Youth 
In 1998, MML joined forces with America’s Promise. America’s Promise is a national initiative led by General Colin Powell that seeks to mobilize communities to address the needs of their youth.
