The title of a recent Lansing State Journal notes that Michigan residents have long relied on "so-called secure jobs at large employers" and discusses the efforts of communities in the mid-michigan region to attract small business development.   It once again reminds me of the need to build economic development strategies around creating jobs by "ones and twos".
