Through a grant from the U.S. EPA’s Office of Sustainable Communities’ Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program, Smart Growth America is offering free technical assistance to help communities develop local strategies to grow in ways that benefit families and businesses through preserving a sense of place and protecting the environment.
Communities interested in applying for this assistance may choose from twelve different tool sets including regional planning, complete streets, walkability workshop/audit, and transportation performance to name a few. If selected, communities will receive a one- or two-day workshops on the tool of their choice.
The deadline for Smart Growth America Technical Assistance applications is October 26, 2011 at 5:00 PM EDT. If interested in applying, you can learn more about this program and the application process during a webinar scheduled for Wednesday, October 12th beginning at 2 pm. The webinar is free but registration is required.
