Updating a previous post, news keeps rolling in about Michigan communities investing in infrastructure to support electric vehicles:

  • Auburn Hills recently adopted an amendment to its zoning ordinance to define, plan for and encourage electric vehicle infrastructure. City officials have generously offered this ordinance up as a model for other communities in the state. Take a look by visting the League's ordinance database.
  • West Michigan counties are considering a regional plan to bond for 4,000 charging stations.
  • ChargePoint America continues to install charging stations in communities all over the state through a federal grant program.
  • You can learn more about the present and future of electric vehicles at the Business of Plugging In conference October 11-13 in Dearborn.
