Earlier this year, the Michigan Municipal League facilitated a three-day training session with Ernesto Sirolli for local officials to learn techniques in how to retain, attract and coach entrepreneurs in their community. We are again partnering with Sirolli to offer a similar three-day session September 7-9th at the League Capitol Office in Lansing.

The training is designed to build the capacity of personnel who are at the frontline of their organization who, during the course of their daily activities, may encounter individuals interested in starting their own enterprises.  The course will enhance your capacity, or the capacity of your organization to successfully interact with clients and provide with effective entrepreneurial assistance.

The first session included 15 people from across the state from a variety of local government disciplines such as managers, dda and economic development directors, planning and zoning administrators and EDC personnel.

Following the workshop, participants receive 12 months of mentoring from an experienced Sirolli Institute practitioner to support their efforts.

Check back next week for a more detailed description of the course, the fee structure and a application.  Space is again limited, so if you are interested in attending or know of others who could benefit your community through the training, please contact Arnold Weinfeld at the League at aweinfeld@mml.org as soon as possible.
