On Thursday, October 7th over 150 groups will gather at the Lansing Center to participate in a all-day program on "Redefining Economic Strategies for the New Economy." The goal of the program is to discover strategies around which there is broad support and could be quickly implemented to move Michigan into a more competitive economic position.
In the morning participants will hear about emerging opportunities for Michigan to compete better in the global economy. In the afternoon, small groups will meet to discuss and refine various state strategies to rebuild Michigan's economy.
The program is sponsored by the MSU Land Policy Institute, MEDC and state department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth. Featured speakers include Governor Granholm, MSU president LouAnn Simon, MEDC President Greg Main, LPI Director Dr. Soji Adelaja of Michigan State University and MSU Professor Dr. Charles Ballard.
