You're reading the title right. And if I've said it once, I've said it a million times...despite all the problems the city of Detroit has, there is a lot of good going on as well. And it appears that a few folks are taking notice. Like those in Pittsburgh.
A recent article in Pittsburgh's Pop City ezine discusses the opportunity and collobartion being being born in Detroit among local officials, business interests, education and the non-profit sector. As the article notes, it shows in the efforts taking place on the M-1 rail line, development of Tech Town, projects such as the Greening of Detroit and development of the art and food scene.
So this summer, as you venture down to a Tigers game, the boat races or any of the numerous festivals that take place, remember to hang out for a while and get a feel for the "good" that is happening in our state's biggest city.
