There's a new tax check-off that can benefit the building of housing in downtowns and communities across the state. Donating to the "Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund" tax check-off is an investment in Michigan communities as the funds collected will support local housing and community development projects to help revitalize our communities.

As a member of the "Living in Michigan" coalition, the League initially worked with other organizations to establish the check-off and ensure that the funds go toward financing downtown and neighborhood improvements along with affordable housing in communities across the state.

With only a few weeks left until the April 15 tax deadline, local officials can help promote the check-off as an important tool in rebuilding communities, and developing downtowns in our state.
