It's very gratifying to read that Detroit Metropolitan Airport has been ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction among large airports according to a J.D. Power study.  For once, Detroit is ranked number one for something that's positive!  This is a well-deserved ranking and confirms my own opinions about our airport, especially the McNamara terminal.  I've traveled to many airports in the United States and around the world, and I can tell you that none of them are as sleek and pleasing-to-the-eye as this architectural gem which is many people's first impression of the Detroit area.  The terminal's width allows for a very spacious and uncrowded feel, unlike many other airports where passengers are constantly bumping into each other or trying hard not to because the terminals are so narrow.  The moving sidewalk and upper level tram also contribute to its ease of navigation.  Bathrooms and shops are plentiful, and there are areas throughout the airport where people can relax.  Finally, I could spend hours standing in front of the water feature that is in the center of the terminal.  It practically hypnotizies you into a complete state of bliss as the streams of water leap from one end of the fountain to the next.

It's easy to see why our airport was ranked number one.  If you haven't been to Detroit Metro lately, it's time to book a trip and check it out!
