GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – Retired Midland Assistant City Manager Jack Duso received the 2018 John M. Patriarche Distinguished Service Award for his service to Michigan communities spanning multiple decades. The Patriarche Award is the highest honor given by the Michigan Municipal Executives (MME). The Award was created in 1992 and recognizes members who have fostered representative democracy by enhancing the effectiveness of local-elected officials through innovative programs and excellence in character and professionalism. The award was given to Duso Thursday, Sept. 20, during a MME Colloquium education session at the 2018 Michigan Municipal League Convention in Grand Rapids. In his retirement he continues to apply his public administration skills through his participation in the governance of a 1,146 resident Homeowners' Association in Fort Myers, Florida, where he and his wife, Vicki, reside.
