John LaMacchia Named 2015 Rising Leader

Michigan Municipal League Legislative Associate Among 15 Selected for MSAE's 15 in '15 Honor

ANN ARBOR, Michigan - The Michigan Municipal League’s John LaMacchia was recently named a Rising Leader in 2015 by the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE).
LaMacchia has been a legislative associate for the Ann Arbor-based League since January of 2013. He works out of the League’s Lansing office handling transportation, energy and environment issues.

“John has been a passionate advocate for our organization and our members and has made a significant impact on the League since joining us in early 2013,” said League CEO and Executive Director Dan Gilmartin. “He certainly is a rising leader to keep an eye on in the years to come.”

LaMacchia has more than a decade of experience in Lansing serving with former Sen. John Gleason for six years as chief of staff and previously working in the office of former Senate Minority Leader Bob Emerson.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized for the hard work and effort that you put forward but this recognition would not be possible if I didn’t work for an organization with great leadership and a tremendous focus on helping our members,” LaMacchia said. “I am just happy to be one part of a great team and those I work with deserve just as much recognition.”
