Michigan Municipal League Issues Statement in Support of May Road Funding Ballot Initiative

The following is Michigan Municipal League’s statement in support of the May 5 ballot proposal on transportation funding. The statement can be attributed to Wakefield Mayor Pro Tem Richard Bolen, President of the Michigan Municipal League Board of Trustees.

“The Michigan Municipal League Board of Trustees met with Governor Snyder on Friday (Jan. 23, 2015) and following that discussion unanimously agreed to support the May 5 ballot proposal. After careful consideration, we believe this proposal is in the best interest of communities throughout Michigan and will improve our ability to attract and retain talent. As an organization, we will be actively supporting this ballot proposal and encouraging our members and their residents to support it as well.”
