of its general educational purposes. Checks may be made out to the
Michigan Municipal League Foundation. The Foundation is a 501-c-3 charitable

contributions to the Foundation are completely deductible. Gifts over
$250 will be acknowledged with a letter stating that no products or
services have been received by the donor as a result of making a gift.

The Foundation gratefully receives all cash gifts for the Enhancing
Local Government project that currently seeks to educate elected
officials
through distance learning techniques. Pledge

this site that can be printed, filled out and mailed with a check

Cash Gift or Pledge to The Power of Knowledge Campaign

Memorial Giving at the Foundation
Many of the Foundation's donors have made gifts to the Foundation in
memory of a n esteemed colleague or loved one whom they wish to memorialize.
Such contributions will be suitable recognized and memorial commendations
made upon request to the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities to the Foundation
A gift of appreciated
stock or other securities is often less expensive to give and brings
with it not only a charitable income tax deduction
but relief from capital gains tax as well. Gifts of securities
are deductible at the fair market value of the assets the day the gift
is made.
Gift by Will to the Foundation
Perhaps one of the easiest and most common gifts one can make to
the Foundation is by leaving a portion of one's estate. A specific
amount
or designated property can be named, or a percentage of the estate.
Another alternative is to leave the residue of one's estate after
other gifts
have been made.
Foundation Gift Annuities
If you need an income from assets you otherwise could give away,
the Foundation can arrange to pay you an income for life on
a percentage that is based on your age. That way you will not lose
the income
the
asset could have provided you.
Gift of Life Insurance to the Foundation
A gift of a life insurance policy is a way to lessen the cost
of a gift. Tax deductions may be available for cash amounts
in certain
policies,
and for premiums paid after transfer of a policy to the Foundation.
The Foundation's Life Income Trust Program
The Foundation offers a variety of trust options that pay
an income stream for life while providing generous tax
benefits and relief
from capital
gains tax.
More information is available on any of these methods of
