Coming Before the Board
If an EOA member wants to come before the EOA Board to present something they
must submit a letter to the Director of Member Services at least
2 weeks prior to the meeting. The letter will then be sent to all of the
board members and they will determine if the matter should come before the
board at the next meeting. The Director of MRS will extend an invitation
to the member and add them to the meeting agenda if needed or the President
will send a letter of denial with the reasons the request was denied.
If this procedure is not followed; the member will not be added to
the agenda and it will be tabled until the next meeting or until the
procedure is followed.
EOA Board Meeting Policy
The EOA Board meets four times a year as stated in the bylaws.
These meetings will be in different locations around Michigan. The schedule
is as follows.
January - Lansing (Region II)
April - Held in either Region III, IV or V (usually hosted by a board member)
July - Held in either Region VI or VII (usually hosted by a board member)
October - Ann Arbor (MML Headquarters- Region I)
Leadership Credits
Leadership credits are listed in the handbook, however, they
are not limited to this list. If a member has done something that they
feel warrants leadership credits, they can submit a letter to the Board
or email Colleen Layton at clayton@mml.org stating
what they have done and attaching any verification possible. The Board
will then discuss the task that was done and take a vote as to how many
credits to award if any at all.
The Board will not consider anything that is not directly local government
in general.
