Be a Region Seminar Officer

As a regional officer your primary role is to ensure League educational events are a success by promotion through personal contact.

This includes writing letters to officials in your region, making phone calls, and talking to peers at other networking functions you attend. The purpose is to ensure other officials understand the value of League education and networking events. While this will be your primary role, some additional responsibilities for the region secretary are detailed below.

Year 1: Secretary

• You will serve as the region secretary in your first year of service.

• Make suggestions for program topics and potential speakers for your Region Roundtable.

• Attend the Region Roundtables prior to the League Capital Conference in the spring. Assistance in moderating this session may be needed.

• Attend at least one League Meet Up to network in your region.

• Provide assistance in Lansing in the form of testifying (written or oral) and phone calls to your representatives/senators.

Year 2: Vice Chair

• You will serve as the region vice chair in your second year of service, unless you are appointed to fill a vacancy.

• Make suggestions for program topics and potential speakers for your Region Roundtable.

• Attend the Region Roundtables prior to the League Capital Conference in the spring. Assistance in moderating this session may be needed.

• Attend at least one League Meet Up to network in your region.

• Provide assistance in Lansing in the form of testifying (written or oral) and phone calls to your representatives/senators.

Year 3: Chair

• You will serve as the region chair in your third year of service, unless you are appointed to fill a vacancy.

• Moderate the Region Roundtable prior to the League Capital Conference in the spring.

• Appoint an incoming secretary for your region to be elected at the Region Roundtable.

• Attend at least one League Meet Up to network in your region.

• Provide assistance in Lansing in the form of testifying (written or oral) and phone calls to your representatives/senators.
