Page 46, the Municipal Q&A, contains a question on EVIP requirements and lists the next EVIP deadline as February 13, 2013. THE CORRECT DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 1, 2013. All of our online materials, the information we’ve provided in webinars and trainings and the information you are receiving from Treasury contains the correct deadline. The print version of the magazine is the only place that contains this typo. The online magazine has been corrected here.

Community Excellence Award – Call for Entries!
Have a community project you are proud of? Attend your Regional Roundtable at Capital Conference, April 9 in Lansing, to enter your community in the Community Excellence Awards – Race for the Cup. Each community who has registered online will be given five minutes to give an “elevator pitch” to passionately present its project—no videos or PowerPoints—using nothing but the power of persuasion! Attendees of the Regional Roundtables will vote on the projects, and the regional winner will go on to compete at Convention this fall!

Elected Officials Academy (EOA) Weekender Program
February 15-16, 2013
The EOA Core Weekender program will take place February 15-16, 2013 at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth. Attendees will learn roles and responsibilities, the fundamentals of financial management, and the basics of planning and zoning. The Core program is a requirement for Level One of the EOA, and is an important step in continuing education for elected officials.
The EOA Advanced Weekender program will also take place February 15-16, 2013 at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth. This program is the next step for those who have already attended the Core Weekender, and will cover planning and zoning issues, financial modeling, intergovernmental cooperation, and more.
