Parliamentary Procedure Workshop
This training, taught by professional parliamentarian Coco Siewert, will provide you with a guide to fair and orderly procedures in meetings that will help keep discussions focused and help you accomplish the business on the agenda. You will learn about basic principles and objectives of parliamentary procedure, knowledge of charters, amendments, handling motions, debate, public hearings, voting requirements, and agendas.
There has been a great deal of interest lately from villages wanting to know the pros and cons of incorporating as a city. This training session will look at the factors to consider in deciding whether to seek city status. Citizens of densely populated townships considering incorporation will also benefit from a discussion of the similarities and differences in city and village government. A panel of speakers will give personal case studies on their cityhood experiences; the differences between a city and a village; the legal requirements and official steps to becoming a city.
