Oct. 26 – Bay de Noc Community College, Escanaba Special Offer: Bring another person from your community for free, by taking advantage of a 2 for 1 scholarship, generously funded by CMS Energy Corporation. Only a limited number of scholarships are available and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to qualify for this scholarship, all attendee names must be submitted together using the faxable registration form. Registrations made online will not qualify.

Winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the Congress of Cities in Denver, CO on Nov. 30-Dec. 4. Other News White Paper on Medical Marijuana Now Available A new white paper was recently released that advises communities on the controversial Michigan Medical Marihuana Act. The report, produced by consultant Gerald A. Fisher, a professor of law at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hills, was prepared at the request of the Michigan Municipal League and Michigan Townships Association and is intended to assist local governments. The Michigan Municipal League has already hosted or co-sponsored numerous training sessions on the law and will continue to work with communities to assist them in interpreting and administering the act.
