Your one-stop spot for League events and educational training! June 10, 2010112th Annual League Convention – Registration Open!
This year we’re bringing in high-energy, passionate presenters to create a fast-paced, intense and exciting experience based around the Center for 21st Century Communities (21c3) eight assets: physical design & walkability; green initiatives; cultural economic development; entrepreneurship; multiculturalism; messaging & technology; transit; and education. We’ll combine the best that national experts offer with our own local success stories from around the state to deliver dynamic, to-the-point presentations followed by break-out discussions. Elected Officials Academy Weekender Program
For those that have already attended the Core Weekender, you won’t want to miss the Elected Officials Academy (EOA) Advanced Weekender also July 16-17 in Traverse City. Affiliate News Michigan Local Government Management Association (MLGMA) Summer Workshop–Registration Open! The registration for the MLGMA Summer Workshop, July 27-30, 2010, at Crystal Mountain is now open! Click here to register. For those who have just completed budgets or for those who are just starting the process, this year’s theme will ring true for everyone in local government: “Survivor Michigan, Extreme Budgets, Politics, Ethics and Challenges.” Educational session topics will range from financial/economic forecasts for Michigan, ethical challenges, millage elections, to credentialed manager opportunities. As in the past, the summer conference is also about enjoying time with family. A number of activities have been developed including shopping in Traverse City, canoeing/kayaking, scavenger hunts, and Great Lakes salmon fishing. Click here for more information on this workshop.
