The assets are: physical design & walkability; green initiatives; cultural economic development; entrepreneurship; multiculturalism; messaging & technology; transit; and education. These eight assets will drive the change we need to achieve “Better Communities. Better Michigan.” and they guide the League in everything we do—from the issues we tackle in Lansing to the seminars and workshops we bring to your doorstep. This year we brought in high-energy, passionate presenters to create a fast-paced, intense and exciting experience based around the eight assets. We combined the best that national experts offer with our own local success stories from around the state to deliver dynamic, to-the-point presentations followed by break-out discussions. What was NOT at our Convention was doom and gloom. We all face very real, very major challenges, but those have been well-defined and extensively discussed. It is time for real solutions. We hope every attendee went home equipped with creative options, visionary programs, and inspiring success stories.
