The Michigan Municipal League (the League) is seeking an experienced Membership Data Specialist to join our team. The selected candidate will collect, manage, and maintain the organizations membership data in our association management database, as well as work closely with staff to provide detailed membership information. We’re looking for a self-starter who can quickly learn new skills, is detail-oriented and can deliver prompt and outstanding work. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is willing to take on new challenges, and can effectively and accurately juggle multiple tasks within deadlines.

If you were working for us, here are just some things you would do:

• Provide staff with custom member lists for mail or email communications.

• Perform data integrity checks and balances.

• Proactively assist multiple departments by performing membership data analysis, used for event/service marketing, demographical or statistical purposes.

• Coordinate our member data collection survey and assist in the creation of the yearly directory.

• Assist in choosing a new association management system (currently IMIS) to better serve League staff and the membership.

• Assist the department director with data projects on the League’s website, assuring information is up-to-date.

• Serve as a back-up to other departmental functions as needed.

About You: Our ideal candidate will have:

• A high school diploma is required. Additional education and or professional certification preferred.

• Five or more years of experience working with data/databases is required.

• Excellent skills working with MS Access to create select/update/delete queries, reports and macros is required.

• Experience with creating, editing, and documenting SQL queries and reports preferred.

• Experience with website programming languages (php, ASP.NET) and database integrations preferred.

• Excellent skills working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Superior organizational skills and close attention to detail.

• Ability to learn new skillsets and further evolve the position.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Ability to effectively lead and complete projects within deadlines.
