Sharing Teed Up in Senate:
League President and Hamtramck
Mayor Testify
Last week, the Senate General Government subcommittee on Appropriations
took testimony on revenue sharing for FY 2010-11, which passed
the House with a 1% increase to the combined total of Constitutional
and Statutory for the current fiscal year. Jeff Jenks, mayor
pro tem of Huntington Woods and current League President,
and Karen Majewski, mayor of Hamtramck and League Trustee,
testified with staff regarding the critical nature of the

delegation of powers to local and state governments is on
the move in Congress. HR
413 and S 3194 would establish a federal "312"
law and force municipalities around the country to enter into
collective bargaining agreements with their public safety
