Today the House Ethics & Elections committee passed two bills allowing for absentee voting without a reason: HB 4097 (Griffin, D-Jackson) and HB 4367 (Stanley, D-Flint).  No reason AV is an issue the League has supported for years, and this session is no exception. The Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks also supports this measure. Historically the Senate has not been interested in taking up this issue, so we'll see what transpires this session.
