What do baby boomers want?

This morning Arnold and I did a presentation to the Senate Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs Committee on elder-friendly communities. We focused on what the retiring generation - the baby boomers - want. It's the same thing their children (the millennials) want - public transit, walkability, vibrant downtowns, arts, parks, culture, 1,000 nights. Arnold discussed the League's 21c3 initiative and how we are working with our members on community design. Senator Allen indicated that he intends to put together a package for elder-friendly communities in December, and the League looks forward to working with him on that legislation.
