One of the interesting things about working at the League is how we look at cities as we're traveling. I know Andy blogged about this a few months ago when he went to San Francisco, and I was blown away when I was in Stockholm, Sweden last week. Granted Europe has the distinct advantage of quaint city areas that are 400-500 years old. We can't top that here. But Stockholm was everything we talk about at the League -- walkable urbanism, tons of parks and green space, fantastic public transportation, arts, culture. The works. And taxes don't matter. Swedes are taxed to the hilt but Stockholm is still a bustling city of over a million people. We can create these same types of vibrant cities in Michigan. I am sure of it. We just have to focus and believe in it!
