This morning I was asked to speak to the executive board of the Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs regarding our positions on PA 312 and the Urban Cooperation Act.  I was happy to do so in an effort to clarify any misconceptions about our positions and answer questions.  I'll be honest -- I was a little nervous too as we don't always see eye to eye on some of these issues.  It was a very good meeting with thoughtful questions and I hope a greater understanding and appreciation for where the League is coming from on these two issues. I'm looking forward to working with the Chiefs as we move forward on both of these issues.
