The House today passed the first two bills in the legislative package dealing with transit options in communities.  They passed HB 5011 and HB 5012, which include transit options in the review that locals do when they adopt or regularly review their master plans and zoning ordinances.

HB 5011 (the zoning bill) originally required all local site plan reviews to include transit, but was changed after input from the League.  League staff worked closely with the sponsor and committee chair, Rep. Marie Donigan, on these bills and thanks her for all her hard work.  HB 5011 passed 69-37, and HB 5012 passed .

We expect to see several more transit options for locals passed by the House and Senate in the next few weeks.
