The House Transportation committee met yesterday and took debate on two transit-related bills...HB 4965 and HB 4966...that are part of the TF2 package.  These two bills deal with creating a new grant program within MDOT to promote transit regionalization planning and to provide for a source of funding for new transit service expansion and programming within the Comprehensive Transportation Fund.  The bills are reliant on the revenue pieces of TF2 being adopted to provide the necessary funding to support these concepts.  There are still a number of technical details to be resolved, so the chair decided to keep the bills in committee and allow a workgroup to hammer out the details.  The chair announced that she would resume action on the bills in December.
