Those of you who know me know I like to joke that I fight cable for a living. I guess it can be said that many of our members do the same.  Following the passage of PA 480, I hear from our members all the time about their struggles with renewing franchise agreements and getting PEG treated the same.  Some communities have decided to take legal action against cable companies, and so far they've been pretty successful.  The latest legal battle is the City of Lansing filing suit yesterday against AT&T in state court and at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to challenge AT&T's treatment of PEG channels.  Check out the video below done by the City of San Jose to see how frustrating the treatment of PEG is by U-Verse. Not only is it hard to find, but the quality is terrible and it takes entirely too long to load the video.

In other cable news, the U.S. Senate approved a delay in the DTV (digital television) transition to June 2009.  The transition is currently scheduled to happen on February 17, 2009.

I know many of you have already seen a demonstration of PEG on U-Verse. But if you haven't, check out the video and let me know what you think!
