Yesterday Mayor Cameron Priebe in Taylor, one of our leading PA 312 advocates, hosted a meeting yesterday with other mayors, city managers and human resource professionals who are interested in PA 312 reform.   The meeting was filled with good information and discussion particularly surrounding Rep. Haveman's recently introduced bill, HB 5325.  The time is critical for you to contact your legislators and remind them about the importance of reforming PA 312. There are only 20(ish) days to get a budget deal, and talk of reforms is happening all over Lansing right now. If the legislature is going to discuss cuts to your revenue, ask them how they are going to make it up to you. Remind them that reforming PA 312 will help your community control costs.
