With the stimulus bill seemingly in the home stretch, numbers are coming in to focus. This is not all inclusive but gives an idea of how much Michigan can expect to receive in some of the categories of interest to locals. And I'm reserving my right to change the figures based on final totals. $847 million for highways and bridges of which $593 million will go to MDOT and $254 million to everyone else. States will have 120 days after apportionment (apportionment must be made within 21 days of the law's enactment) to obligate the first 50 percent of their highway apportionments and until one year after apportionment to obligate the remainder. There is also money for transit capital grants in the amount of $165m. We'll get $239 million for sewer and water projects; $68m for drinking water and $171m for clean water. Look for a more complete list of funding in the near future.
