Late last week it was announced that Michigan will be receiving $67 million under the federal stimulus for Byrne Justice Grants.   The money is split 60/40 between the state and local communities.  The state portion will be made available to state and local criminal justice agencies by a competitive grant process.  Funds can be use for many different public safety programs such as multi-jurisdictional task forces, prevention activities, law enforcement training and technology upgrades.  For more information on this and other programs be sure to visit the League's Eocnomic Stimulus Webpage and watch for additional information thru this blog and Legislative LINK e-newsletter.
