State of the State Makes Small Mention of Cities

You may have heard Tuesday evening during the Governor's speech she made a mention of "requiring" local communities to hire Michigan first. We aren't quite sure what that means although we've been told it will most likely be a requirement to have a policy rather than adhere to a state policy. Looks like details will be coming in her 2010 budget. That says one thing to me - a revenue sharing requirement. We will see next week, but it's something to keep an eye on.
