Members, especially those from West Michigan, are encouraged to attend the June 23rd meeting of the State Transportation Commission and make the case for increased investment in Michigan's transportation infrastructure. The meeting will take place at the M-Tec Center located at 400 Klock Road beginning at 9 am
This is the first meeting to be held outside of Lansing this year. The Governor has already stated his intention on delivering a "transportation/infrastructure" message this fall, and while the League will be doing all it can to influence this important policy piece from within the walls of the state Capitol, it is equally important that local officials begin to raise their own voices as well.
As noted in the League's "Core Legislative Principles" document, transportation infrastructure is a strategic investment that is essential to strengthening Michigan's economy.
