Today, the House had
HB 4247, the cable dispute resolution bill, on its agenda. We are still hoping to get an amendment added to the bill that would change the "loser pay" provision so that it reflects the same language as what currently exists in the Telecommunications and METRO Acts. If the bill gets amended to change this language, we will be fully supportive. We sent out an action alert this morning and did a piece in our legislative link, but it's important for our advocacy efforts when our members contact legislators. So check out our
action alert and let your legislators know that as introduced this bill could require a local unit of government to pay attorney fees for a cable provider. The House may hold a vote on this bill tomorrow, but at least we have a reprieve for today. And after beating my head against a wall for two weeks, I'll take it. Contact your legislators!
