The Senate Restructuring and Reforms committee heard additional testimony this week on SBs 1046 and 1047 as well as a bill that would require schools to bid for noninstructional services.
SB 1046 requires a 20% premium share by all pubilc employees. The latest version of the bill would allow a local unit of government to opt out of the 20% premium share requirement by a 2/3 vote of the governing body.
Testimony is very mixed with school administration supporting, unions opposing and the business community supporting.
