Yesterday the Senate Reforms, Restructuring and Reinventing Committee held testimony on SB 8, a bill that allows communities to create joint endeavors through the Municipal Partnership Act.

This legislation as drafted is restricted to Kent County; however, there is a substitute bill that would open this up to all communities.

The committee did not vote on the legislation. The League is hoping to get the recent changes to the Urban Cooperation Act moved along with this legislation.
