Wednesday, the Senate General Government subcommittee on Appropriations took testimony on the new EVIP (revenue sharing) prorgam which began October 1st. The Department of Treasury spoke before the committee heard testimony from city managers from Tecumseh, Saugatuck and Rogers City regarding the difficulty in implementing some of the aspects of the program. The League also spoke regrding the outreach done to educate members on the new requirements and the feedback regarding some of the issues with the program so far. It is not known if there will be future hearings on the subject. There were no indications given of what the plans are for the next few years of revenue sharing/EVIP requirements.
