The issue of invasive species in the Great Lakes and the concerns over Asian Carp entering the Lakes from Illinois has become a focus of Michigan residents and communities, along with the media in recent weeks. Governor Jennifer Granholm, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, and numerous Congressional and State legislative leaders have promoted a variety of legal, legislative and public relations efforts to highlight the immense damage that could occur to the Great Lakes if an Asian Carp infestation is not blocked.  Many Michigan communities and organizations have already expressed support for these efforts through letters, resolutions, or other official communications.  The following sample resolution has been prepared to further assist communities along these lines.  In addition to the sample resolution, the following web link continues a number of useful facts and links to other resources dedicated to preventing Asian Carp in the Great Lakes.  http://www.stopasiancarp.com/index.html  Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further information.
