Join us in a rally for public safety and revenue sharing Thursday, October 22 at 11:30 am on the Capitol Building steps! Despite the devastating affects years of unfunded revenue sharing to communities has caused, the Legislature this year passed some of the worst cuts yet. The governor will veto a budget that does not fund public safety; she's said it many times. And, both chambers recently passed bills to backfill FY '09 cuts. It's time to come together and demand the governor veto the budget and that the Legislature fund revenue sharing. Township officials, police officers, firefighters and news crews are also expected at the event. We encourage you to bring your mayors, councilmembers, managers, staff, police officers, firefighters, and everyone else you can find. Be prepared to talk to the media if you are approached—and remember to use specific examples of how these cuts will hurt your community! After the rally you can talk to your legislators about the cuts as both chambers will be in session. We promise to keep you warm with hot snacks and beverages.
