I've made mention in previous posts about how federal funding formula's are set to be changed to reward those communities and regions that think and act collaboratively to solve problems.  A recent column by Neil Pierce describes how some cities are using recovery funds to forge regional solutions to issues.  Of course as Pierce points out, it means public and private sector leadership/partnership.  It shows what can be done when there is a common strategy at work at the local, regional and state level.  Whether or not you think that exists in your community, region or our state as a whole, the fact is it can be done and we're going to have to get better at it.
