A series of surveys done for the League by the University of Michigan Center for Local, State and Urban Policy (CLOSUP) has found that local officials are skeptical about the impact of the Recovery Act on their community. Although local officials surveyed were more optimistic about the impact the stimulus might have on the overall state economy.
The findings come form survey's performed during the Spring and Fall of 2009. It is part of the League's effort over the last two years, through the U-M CLOSUP program, to gauge the thoughts of local officials on a number of different issues.
