President Obama has announced new efforts to put Americans back to work and get the economy moving.  Although not nearly as expansive as the first round of stimulus funding, this announcement includes additional investment in infrastructure spending for roads, bridges, highways, transit, rail, aviation and water.  The League, along with our federal partner, the National League of Cities will be communicating to members of Congress and in particular the Michigan delegation, that funding for projects should come directly to communities as local officials know best how and where such money should be spent.
