Last week the Senate concurred in SB 493, a bill amending the Public Employee Relations Act.

This legislation removes barriers to cooperation by prohibiting certain subjects from collective bargaining the decision to create an authority, the parties who will make up the authority and the procedures for obtaining a contract for the transfer of functions and responsibilities.

This bill is part of a greater cooperation package that includes the Urban Cooperation Act legislation.
