Online public notice bills could see May vote

The House Judiciary Committee is planning to hold a May 12 hearing on the bills that would allow legal notices to be published online.

The bi-partisan package (HBs 5845, 5847, 5848, 5853, 5916 and 5917) is being supported by the League, the Michigan Townships Association, the Michigan Association of Counties, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks.  The Press Association opposes the bills.

Please contact your Representatives and Senators to let them know how important these bills are for our communities. They save a significant our communities amount of money and increase transparency of legal notices.
