This afternoon, the Senate passed HB 5880, the bill which contains revenue sharing and was funded at a level equal to what communities recieved in FY 2010. The House passed the bill yesterday, so Senate passage was the final hurdle in the budget process. The House and Senate are expected to wrap up the last couple of budgets yet tonight - leaving one day to spare before the start of the new fiscal year - October 1st. This is a big success for local units of government, as the House and Senate had both originally proposed cuts of 3-5% respectively. Thank you to all of our members who contacted legislators to tell them we could sustain no more cuts to this funding!
